Charities
Cornwall Switch is a non-profit organisation. Any surplus that we make through our partnership with the Energylinx switching service will be split between Oxfam, WaterAid and the Cornwall Community Renewables Fund. Quite simply, the more people who switch, the more we’ll be able to pass on to these charities.
Oxfam
Oxfam works to overcome poverty and the suffering it causes. As the world’s
climate changes, people in the poorer countries are becoming even more
vulnerable to floods, droughts and other ‘natural’ disasters.
Oxfam is committed to helping these people improve their lives.
WaterAid
WaterAid aims to make sure that everyone in the world has access to safe
drinking water and effective sanitation. It does this by setting up low-cost,
sustainable projects in areas where clean water is not available. Unsafe
water is one of the world’s biggest killers, and it’s increasingly
a result of disasters caused by global warming.
Cornwall Green Communities Fund
In partnership with Community Energy Plus and the Cornwall Community Foundation, Cornwall Switch plans to set up a special fund to help people in Cornwall
who want to develop small-scale renewable energy or energy-saving projects to benefit
their local communities. These would include solar panels for village halls
and geothermal heating systems for schools, for example.
